Abstract

This thesis-turned-book by Priya Atwal consists of five chapters. This lucid read engages with socio-cultural events that impacted the high politics of Punjab in the nineteenth century. The story is about the making of the Sikh empire from the perspective of the ‘peripheral’ personalities.
